Martina Obersat has been weaving baskets since 1997.

She specializes in two types of designs—practical, useful baskets based on traditional methods and materials, and creative, asymmetrical patterns that often incorporate found objects or unusual materials drawn from the gardens surrounding her home in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

Her handmade baskets are sturdy and built to weather use over time. She works in a broad range of dimensions and can produce commissioned works to address the unique vision of individual clients.

A graduate of the University of Windsor School of Visual Arts, she is a member of the Southwestern Ontario Basketry Guild.
