2025 Shows/Workshops

I am selling my baskets throughout Southwestern Ontario this summer. As usual, you can find my baskets at Pelee Art Works during the summer months. If you are interested in purchasing a hand-made basket, please message me through my contact page.

Thursday, April 17 & Friday, April 18, 2025London Spring Craft Show, London, Ontario. This is my first time at this two-day Spring show on Good Friday at the Western Fair District Agriplex. I will bring a variety of baskets but I will concentrate on Easter baskets…colourful, round and with a handle! Since it is spring, birds nest baskets will also be on sale. Saturday, April 26, 2025North Star Springfest 2025, Amherstburg, Ontario. More that 200 vendors will be set up inside and outside the North Star High School. I will bring many hanging birds nest, garlic baskets and natural bark vases. North Star High School, 330 Simcoe Street, Amherstburg, Ontario. Free admission but donations are appreciated. From 9 am – 3 pm.

Saturday, May 10, 2025Glenwood Spring Craft Sale, Windsor, Ontario. I am bringing many baskets, vases and other gifts items perfect for Mother’s Day. Glenwood United Church, 1825 Grand Marais Road West, Windsor, Ontario. From 9:30 am – 3 pm.

Saturday, June 7 & Sunday, June 8, 2025Art in the Park, Windsor, Ontario. I am very excited to be participating in Art in the Park this year again! This is one of the biggest weekend craft events in Essex County, located in the beautiful and historic Willistead Manor grounds in Walkerville. I will bring a variety of baskets, in a variety of materials and at various price points to the show. For more information and to purchase advance tickets, click here: Art in the Park. Saturday, June 21, 2025Southwestern Ontario Basketry Guild workshop, Chatham. Ontario.

I will teach theWilliamsburg-style basket with Fancy Handle for the Guild in Chatham, Ontario, Canada.This workshop is for students with some basketry weaving experience. Students will learn to weave and square a base, weave outward up the sides following the angle of the handle and lash the rim to secure the basket. Learn to wrap a fancy handle, if desired. You will create a useful and beautiful basket.This workshop will take most of the day (9 am – 4 pm). Basket size: base = 7″ x 7″; height = 7″ without handle; opening = 12″ x 12″.

Saturday, July 19, 2025Amherstburg Art Crawl, Amherstburg, Ontario.

This annual event features many artists showcasing their work all over downtown Amherstburg–in museums, galleries and businesses. There are also plein air and street artists. I will be talking and demonstrating basket-making in the Visitor Centre at the Fort Malden Historic Site from 11 am – 4 pm. Saturday, August 2, 2025Art on the Boulevard, Erieau, Ontario, Canada. This is a great outdoor event…on a tree-lined, one-kilometer boulevard in the centre of Erieau, a quaint fishing port and village. Saturday, September 20, 2025Southwestern Ontario Basketry Guild workshop, Chatham. Ontario.

I will teach a Japanese-style fan. Students will learn to weave this unusual fan shape using ¼” flat oval reed. The body of the fan is a twill pattern and the handle is tied together using an overlapping knot. Waxed linen or waxed polyester will secure the sides. Thursday, December 4 to Sunday, December 7, 2025 – Christkindlmarkt, Kitchener, Ontario.

I am very excited to spend another four days at the annual Christkindlmarkt in downtown Kitchener. Last year was great! It is one of the biggest German Christmas markets in Canada. I will bring my hand-woven baskets but also many traditional German ornaments, including paper stars (Froebelsterne), straw stars (Strohsterne) and willow ornaments. Saturday, December 13, 2025 – Mistletoe Market, Windsor, Ontario.

This is my first year at the Mistletoe Market. I will be there on Saturday, December 13! The organizer, Urban Art Market, always has a great mix of vendors and everything is hand-made. This is a three-day event with different vendors on each day.  The holiday shopping goodness at the Waters Edge Event Centre, 2879 Riverside Drive East in Ford City. This is my first time at this two-day outdoor event at the scenic lakeside Leamington Municipal Marina/Rick Atkin Park, 100 Robson Road. Saturday, August 24 & Sunday, August 25, 2024Art by the River, Amherstburg, Ontario. This is my first time participating in Art by the River, a major fundraiser for the Gibson Gallery. I have sold my baskets at the Gallery Artisan Shoppe for a few years and this outdoor show will be a new experience for me on the grounds of Fort Malden National Historic Site. 100 Laird Avenue, Amherstburg, Ontario. Saturday, November 18, 2023Holiday Vendor and Bake Sale, Windsor, Ontario at Glenwood United Church, 1825 Grand Marais Road West. Handmade crafts and bake goods for sale for the holiday season inside the church. Admission is free. From 9:30 am – 3 pm.

Friday, November 24 to Sunday, November 26, 202310th Annual Christmas Extravaganza, Windsor, Ontario. I will be bringing baskets and lots of paper stars (Froebelsterne) to sell at this three-day event. Hundred local artists will be set up inside the WFCU Centre, 8787 McHugh. Admission is free but donations to local charities appreciated. Friday 4:30 – 8:30 pm and Saturday & Sunday 10 am – 4 pm.

Past workshops

Saturday, August 19, 2023 Southwestern Ontario Basketry Guild workshop. Chatham, Ontario, Canada. I will teach a variety of rib baskets in one class! Students can choose to weave a very personal colourful and unique basket. All baskets have three equal central ribs that need to be lashed in place. To add interest to the basket, a random weave rim was woven in place at the end. This workshop is for students with some basketry weaving experience. Pre-registration is required. Saturday, August 20, 2022 Southwestern Ontario Basketry Guild workshop. Chatham, Ontario, Canada. I will be teaching students how to weave a square rib basket at the Chatham Cultural Centre.
